Pre-Apprenticeship

Students who complete training through HBI’s Job Corps, Project CRAFT, Operation Reconstruct and YouthBuild programs meet the standards for pre-apprenticeship, qualifying them for entry-level employment in their respective trades:

Job Corps
HBI Job Corps provides the framework needed to build a successful career in residential construction – trades training and employability skills.

Operation Reconstruct
Operation Reconstruct is a 12-week training course for unemployed or underemployed adults and youth ages 18-21 to provide them with basic home building skills and employment in an area’s construction industry.

Project CRAFT
Project CRAFT (Community Restitution and Apprenticeship Focused Training) teaches court-involved youth ages 15-19 marketable residential construction trades skills that help them become wage earning citizens, instills a sense of confidence and excitement about their futures and provides them with viable career path options.

Project TRADE
Ex-offenders get the education and trades training they need to create a path to success in the residential construction industry through Project TRADE (Training, Restitution, Apprenticeship Development Employment).

YouthBuild
HBI YouthBuild programs offer economically disadvantaged youth access to industry-sponsored career and technical education training while increasing the supply of affordable housing for homeless and low-income people.
