NAHB Green Building Standard

As the nation’s leader in residential construction training and education, HBI has been incorporating environmentally friendly, energy-efficient practices into its curriculum for many years.

As of 2009, all HBI programs and resources including its Job Corps program, PACT curriculum, Residential Construction Academy Series and Residential Construction Superintendent Designation align with NAHB’s National Green Building Standard, the only residential green building rating system approved by American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

The standard sets requirements and environmental performance levels for green buildings and developments and practices for the design, construction and certification of green residential buildings, renovations and land developments.
