Instructor Certification

HBI offers instructor industry certification to ensure consistency in instructor teaching/training methodologies and knowledge competency when teaching to the HBI/NAHB skills standards contained throughout the Residential Construction Academy (RCA) Series curriculum.

HBI offers one level of certification for instructors. This online course is offered through the Ohio State University. Instructor Certification is provided through comprehensive course offerings with built-in testing for sixteen (16) modules. Instructors must be recognized as journey level in their craft and/or have a minimum of three (3) years teaching experience.

Fall 2009 Session:
Monday, October 5-Friday, November 13

Winter 2010 Session:
Monday, February 1-Friday, March 12

Spring 2010 Session:

Student Certification

Beginning with the 2009/2010 academic year, Student Certification will be offered for each trade available within the RCA Series. Each test will cover industry-based skill standards for that trade. Information will be available Fall 2009.
