Department of Labor serves as the largest contributor to HBI's programs. Currently, three HBI programs recieve funding from DOL, including HBI's largest program - Job Corps and Building Today's Workforce for Tomorrow. Building Today's Workforce for Tomorrow
HBI received a $4.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor to increase participation in trades training. “Building Today’s Workforce for Tomorrow” funds local and state Home Builder Associations (HBAs) in ten states to develop partnerships with community colleges, k-12 school districts, workforce investment boards, Job Corps centers and area employers Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
HBI and Youthbuild teamed up to offer technical assistance through industry- sponsored vocational training. Although YouthBuild is now housed at the Department of Labor, HBI continues to provide support to grantees as part of its three-year agreement with HUD. |
