Certification

Whether you are a student just starting out or a seasoned building trades professional, HBI has an industry-recognized certification for you.

Third-Party Certification through NOCTI

HBI’s certification assessments, offered through NOCTI, are based on National Skills Standards, and are recognized by 140,000 National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) members.

If you are a student in a career technical education program that is an authorized NOCTI testing site, this option is for you. Go to the Pre-Apprenticeship Certificate Training (PACT) and the Residential Construction Academy pages on NOCTI’s site to learn more.

If you are an instructor, a professional in the industry or a company that wants to offer a third-party certification to your workforce, certifications can be earned through an online assessment via NOCTI Business Solutions. The first step is to complete and submit a registration application here

Participants who meet or exceed passing levels are eligible to apply for certification. Upon approval, HBI awards applicable certifications.

Instructor Certification through OSU

HBI partnered with The Ohio State University (OSU) to offer online instructor certification to ensure consistency in teaching methodologies and knowledge competency when teaching to the National Skill Standards throughout the Residential Construction Academy (RCA) Series curriculum. It is a six-week online program that includes 16 online modules covering topics such as adult learning, curriculum planning, lesson plans and instructional strategies.

Looking for a complete package? License our PACT curriculum and receive curriculum, student certification assessments, instructor certification, mentorship and more.
