Pre-Apprenticeship

HBI recognizes the building industry’s need for a training program that provides students with vocational and academic learning with on-the-job training. That is why we offer our award-winning and industry-recognized curriculum.

Advanced Training

HBI’s advanced training programs are developed by industry experts and aligned to national skills standards. We offer trainings in Advanced Electrical Service Technician, Advanced Plumbing Technician, Advanced HVAC Preventative Maintenance Technician, and Advanced Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Technician.

Apprenticeship

Apprenticeship is a proven approach for preparing workers to meet the needs of businesses seeking a highly skilled workforce. The model involves progressive increases in an apprentice’s skills and wages. Additionally, Job Corps pre-apprenticeship training is based on approximately 1,000 hours of training based on industry standards. The HBI Residential Construction Academy textbooks and curricula are utilized throughout all Job Corps programs.

Our military and veteran programs empower our nation’s servicemembers, veterans, and their qualified family members with the skills and experience they need to build meaningful careers in the construction industry.

Our workforce services programs are developed to assist individuals in gaining skills and certifications for justice involved youth and adults, veterans, and various other local nonprofits, workforce organizations, and municipalities across the nation.

Home Depot Schools to Skills Program

With the support of the Home Depot Foundation, and the National Housing Endowment, we offer a two-year trade skills training program for secondary school students across the nation.
